It's so sw...I just read your post on the MJ board. It's so sweet of you to do that. I feel weird nominating my daughter, but we've had a lot happen in the last two years. My son Hunter (who is 9), was diagnosed with Spina Bifida last fall. He has other medical conditions besides this and it made life rough. We adopted him when he was 12 days old and because of the lack of prenatal care, we are seeing the effects of fetal alcohol syndrome. He had surgery in January to correct tethered cord, which was causing scoliosis as well. After the successful surgery, we went back to just regular doctor appointments, blood work and the like. (Geez. Maybe you could make a dress for him! Just kidding!)

Then in March, my daughter Elsie
(3 1/2) was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. She will have to have cortisone injections every 3 to 6 months and also have regular eye exams to make sure an infection does not cause blindness. There is no way to know if this will go into remission or if she will have it the rest of her life.

We could not believe that we were hit with yet another major medical issue in our family. I spend all of my time shuttling two kids to endless doctor appointments, pre-op, post-op and surgeries and occupational therapy sessions.

I started writing a blog http://postcardsfromholland.blogspot.com/ that was born out of the need to write about the joys and frustrations of raising children with disabilities.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my story.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05010215117936484317noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793183169568745554.post-17891910630406070102008-07-11T20:06:00.000-04:002008-07-11T20:06:00.000-04:00Hello.
